- Reduced crime in North Long Beach to levels not seen for 20 years by working with local law enforcement and community leaders
- Initiated and helped create first Youth Council in Long Beach
- Opened new North Police Sub-station
- Created Jordan High School JPAC (Jordan Parent Action Committee) with the support of Jordan High School Principals and Families
- Worked with City Council members to produce the first structurally balanced budget in 20 years
- Removed the crime-infested hotel at 61st and Atlantic
- Worked with Jordan High School Principals to build a traffic median in front of Jordan HS to create a safer environment and save lives
- Removed the old Rocky Liquor Store reducing crime around Jordan High School
- Funded 4 murals in the disctrict reducing graffiti
- Opened the new Target at 68th and Cherry with private development funds, producing 200 new jobs and adding $600,000 to the general fund
- Opened the new Big Saver Grocery Store at Orange and Artesia with Private development funds, producing 70 more jobs and adding more money to the general fund
- Helped Andy Street residents live a safer life by forming the first Multi-Residential Improvement District in the Nation
